MILANO FASHION WEEK SPRING/SUMMER 2022

Milan Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 22 has just ended. A hybrid event that maintains its online structure acquired during the pandemic, but that also sees a resumption of the live shows: a return to the fashion weeks that have excited and engaged us for decades.

The Women’s Milan Fashion Week for Spring involved the most loved brands, but there is no shortage of fashion shows that present co-ed collections combining men’s and women’s fashion. A total of 65 fashion shows, 42 in the presence and 23 digital, full of innovation and changes. Accompanying the creativity of the most beloved designers in the world, there are the aspects that have assumed particular importance in the last period, such as sustainability and transformation as well as the support of the youngest and emerging designers.

Urban and elegance come together in a natural mood, a modern reinterpretation of the classics in the name of comfort and with a focus on sustainability. Memorable items and true works of art. The fits use sustainable premium fabrics, playing with innovative and often exaggerated volumes and details. An example? The Re-Candy Furla bag, which celebrates the company’s classic but from a sustainable perspective as it is made with recycled plastic in beautifully neon colors.

ALBERTA FERRETTI

Alberta Ferretti remains one of the absolute, and most loved, protagonists of the Milan Fashion Week. The show is rich in references to history and nature, perfectly combined in a harmonious and elegant union where clothes triumph, thanks to craftsmanship. The contemporary style is accompanied by symbols and references to nature, such as the butterfly that represents a metamorphosis and a new beginning. Soft and voluminous fabrics are preferred when declined in transparencies. To accompany it all, a classic and elegant location, private but surrounded by nature. It couldn’t have been more perfect than this.

MONCLER

Moncler presented its collections with a super digital show in five cities around the world during Milan Fashion Week. A unique vision of 11 designers to create something never seen before, also thanks to the presence of Alicia Keys. The global audience experienced a journey through New York, Milan, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Seoul to discover the sources of inspiration of Moncler Genius designers in the fields of art, cinema, sport, and music. Different cultural universes are embraced in an innovative continuum rich in contaminations. Moncler’s goal is much higher than the creation of the most popular jackets in the world, there is the desire to build a united community despite the differences, through shared experiences, in a world in constant change. Moncler’s cultural evolution has been presented and it is increasingly personal, a union between skills and techniques that are shown through the digital event.

VERSACE

Versace makes seduction the cornerstone of its style for the spring/summer 2022 season. A show is worthy of the name as it almost reaches pre-Covid standards, masks aside. The new Versace icon, Dua Lipa, opens and closes the show. The hinge of the event is the silk scarves and their effect on the skin, enriched by leading prints. Shirt and trousers, light dresses, and blouses make the collection a completely Versace experience. To these softy styles, are added colored vinyl that squeezes the body, suits with cropped jackets, metal mesh that seems painted on the shapes, and the safety pins that barely prevent the clothes from falling off. Everything is exaggerated, pumped up, to the limit. The return, in great style, of one of the most loved fashion brands. Furthermore, we cannot fail to mention the great event, absolutely unique and unprecedented, of the Versace x Fendi fashion show in which the two brands combined their styles, creating a shared fashion that is absolutely respectful of both brands. This surprise event brought the fashion week to a close, starring supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss and their daughters because the goal of the collection is to make women feel good about themselves regardless of roles and age. Both brands have been enriched by this collaboration through overlaps that do not clash but rather seem made to be together.

This year’s Fashion Week is now over and we can only look back at the shows that have filled our days and wait patiently for the arrival of 2022 to be able to savor these changes that the catwalks have already anticipated.
